At the start of the year, I decided to (re)introduce myself to you. More than a year after embarking on this entrepreneurial adventure , I think it's time we got to know each other better. Course, approach, mission, I tell you everything!

My journey: how did I get to entrepreneurship?

After obtaining my scientific baccalaureate , I began my higher education at HEC Lausanne after 3 years and a year in Erasmus at Cardiff University, I obtained my Bachelor of Economics !

I decided not to stop there and continued my studies with a Master's degree in Finance , a sector that I found very stimulating. With my Master's degree in hand, I began my professional career in banking.

But as far as I can remember, cosmetics have always fascinated me. As a child, I helped my mother, Anne-Sophie, a formulation chemist in the beauty and well-being sector. I stuck the labels on the day creams and sorted the capsules. A bit like Obélix who fell into the pot of magic potion, you could say that I tripped over a barrel of jojoba oil when I was little. My mother working on her own account, the business community was not unknown to me either! 

You guessed it, creating my skincare brand was quite natural for me. Although I enjoy my job, my passion for cosmetics has never faded. It is therefore quite natural that in 2020, I wonder about my desire to undertake a project in the field of cosmetics...

My entrepreneurial adventure and the birth of The Cosmetist

Concerned with acne since my adolescence, the idea of ​​developing a cosmetic brand around the health and well-being of the skin (in parallel with my career in the banking sector) began to germinate. I discuss it with my mother and around May 2021, the idea of ​​a concept of internal and external anti-acne care takes shape. I do my research in order to select suitable active ingredients and natural, local and effective raw materials .

Anne-Sophie then helps me formulate the products and create a range of anti-acne skincare products in my image. We test, we refine, we improve. In the spring of 2022 everything is ready, my entrepreneurial adventure can really begin and The Cosmetist is born. I am launching a crowdfunding campaign on the Ulule platform and our fundraising goal has been largely achieved thanks to the generosity of donors. Thanks to this funding, we were able to launch our very first production!

What a joy to see my in & out anti-acne care range finally ready to pamper you! Composed of 2 food supplements (a Phase I and a Phase II of 30 days each) and a 30ml serum , it is an ultra-complete routine that takes into consideration the multitude of factors causing acne.

Because acne is multifactorial , we have developed a routine that acts on all causes of skin imperfections (diet, bacteria, pollution, sun, etc.). Our routine combines the intake of food supplements treating the internal factors of acne with the application of a skin serum treating the external factors and improving the condition of the skin.

Result: Our products act on all the causes of acne, the problem is treated at its source and the results are optimized.

My mission as an entrepreneur

My mission is to offer you a natural and effective solution to treat your acne and improve the condition and health of your skin. Thanks to our amazing duo, my mother and I managed to design a range:

• Effective against pimples and acne scars.
• Natural , respectful of the skin and the health of consumers.
• With a minimalist ingredient list, without controversial ingredients.
• Vegan and made in Switzerland .
• Eco-responsible : our packaging is recyclable, our production is local (in the Valais in Switzerland) and the ingredients are of European origin to limit the carbon footprint.
• Which is suitable for all skin types .

Acne doesn't change who we are, but it can sometimes ruin our lives, lower our confidence and our self-esteem. By creating The Cosmetist , I want to help you regain confidence in yourself and your natural beauty!

2023: It's up to me (and you) to write the rest of my entrepreneurial adventure!

The last few months have been full of emotions. Since summer 2022, you can find The Cosmetist products at the Anton & Willem pharmacy in Annecy! And since autumn 2022, our products have also been exhibited at the Cigoire concept store in Lille and Lyon!

We also appeared in the September issue of Gala magazine ! One thing is certain, 2022 has not been easy, but it marked the birth of The Cosmetist and my leap into entrepreneurship . More than an entrepreneurial adventure , I live a real human adventure. And it's thanks to you, customers and partners! Thank you for your support !

I don't know what 2023 has in store for me, but I'm jumping into it with both feet with great excitement and curiosity! Not you ?
